2023 Grand Wagoneer L Overview
Jeep has an introduced an all-new Wagoneer L, which has an extended wheelbase. The new model is now available to test-drive at Jay Hatfield Dodge Chrysler Ram Jeep, and you can see firsthand how much difference the expanded cargo space and easier third-row access makes. There are three core trim levels available—Series I, Series II and Series III—and in this 2023 Grand Wagoneer L review, we’ll explore the differences between them and consider why you may want to choose the L over the non-L.

As for the exterior, the biggest difference between the L and non-L is that the L measures almost 19 feet in length whereas the non-L measures almost 18 feet. Otherwise, the height, width and ground clearance are the same, and the vehicles share the same aesthetic outside of some minor badging differences. A two-tone color scheme is standard, and there are nine options to choose from. The Series I has 20-inch aluminum wheels and offers 22-inch wheels as an option. All other trim levels come with the 22-inch wheels, and there are various designs and finishes available depending on the trim.

Interior - 2023 Grand Wagoneer L in Frontenac KS
The biggest difference between the 2023 Grand Wagoneer L and the standard model is that the L provides more dedicated cargo space by 15 cubic feet and more available cargo space by 14 cubes. The length also allows the rear wheel arches to be positioned further back, and that makes access into and out of the third much easier. Seven-passenger seating in a 2-2-3 arrangement is standard, but you can opt for the 2nd-Row Seating Group with all three trim levels. It provides a 2-3-3 layout. The Series I features Nappa leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats with massage and heated second-row seats. The Series II has Palermo leather seating and offers additional interior color options, and the Series III adds quilted Palermo leather upholstery and second-row seats that are heated and ventilated.

Grand Wagoneer L Mechanical specs
The Grand Wagoneer comes standard with four-wheel drive, which distinguishes it from the Wagoneer, and this is the case with the Grand Wagoneer L and Wagoneer L as well. There are several 4x4 systems to choose from. The base 4x4 is a full-time system, and the optional configurations add equipment like a two-speed transfer case and an electronic limited-slip differential.

Jeep is introducing an all-new engine called the Hurricane. It is an inline-six with twin turbochargers, and it is available in two configurations: standard output and high output. The 2023 Grand Wagoneer L comes standard with the HO engine: 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. A tow hitch and pre-wiring for a trailer are standard equipment, but if you want to maximize the towing capacity at 10,000 pounds, you’ll want to opt for the Heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow Package. It adds heavy-duty engine cooling, trailer brake control, front and rear tow hooks and additional driver assists.

The 2023 Grand Wagoneer L comes standard with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Features include a 12-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and much more. Standard driver-assistance technologies include a surround-view camera system, a head-up display, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automated parking. The Convenience Package adds driver attention monitoring, a digital rearview mirror, front cross-traffic alert, an infrared night vision camera with pedestrian and cyclist detection and enhanced smart cruise control with traffic sign recognition. That package is optional with the Series I and Series II and included with the Series III.
